We are recruiting for Orsay Physics. Based in Fuveau (13), France, is Tescan Group’s Business Unit specialist in Ions and UHV.

Established in France since 1989, we design, produce and market mainly ion and electron beam columns (FIB/SEM column), integrated UHV FIB-SEM platforms, as well as associated equipment (Gas Injection Systems/GIS, detectors). Our main customers are integrators, companies and academic laboratories in the fields of microelectronics, materials analysis and biology. Our instruments enable us to visualize, machine and analyze materials on the nanometric scale.

As part of a job creation to support our development, we are looking for a Product Engineer M/F.

Reporting to the R&D Department, your main objective will be to guarantee the industrial feasibility of prototypes before they go into production, in compliance with specifications and quality, cost and deadline requirements.

In this position you will

Guarantee the industrial feasibility and reliability of products:

  • Participate in design phases with R&D and provide industrial production expertise.
  • Challenge technical choices (concept, design, materials, reliability, etc.) and their industrial feasibility (production capacity of subcontractors/suppliers, internal production flow, applicable standards, skills).
  • Propose and draw up an action plan for the industrialization of new products, and coordinate its implementation with cross-functional players.
  • Validate the industrialization of new products.
  • Identify and provide test resources for R&D prototypes and product testing (production) (Space, Test Beds, etc.).
  • Identify and provide product assembly and handling resources.
  • Participate in supplier selection.
  • Identify internal production constraints and provide solutions to resolve them before new products go into production.
  • Identify and ensure the implementation of logistical means for product shipment.
  • Carry out product risk analyses.

Guarantee product quality and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements:

  • Maintain a constant watch on standards, developments and difficulties in the sector, and produce the associated documentation in collaboration with Quality.
  • Ensure that prototype design meets applicable regulatory requirements (CE standards, ULCSA, etc.).
  • Use analyses carried out on RMA and NC products, suggest improvements, have them validated and implemented.

An ideal candidate will have

  • Master degree education in general engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Project management experience in an industrial company essential
  • Knowledge of mechanics/electronics
  • Advanced knowledge of industrialization (stages, industrial standards, documentation, etc.)
  • English B1 minimum
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to adapt, sense of priorities, results-oriented
  • Thoroughness, assertiveness
