We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Facilities and Support Services Manager to oversee the efficient management and development of our company’s facilities, local support services, and production equipment.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our physical infrastructure and support services. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong managerial skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to optimize processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
This position will report to COO and operates in the Business Unit of Electron Microscopy in Brno.
Job description
You will have the following key responsibilities:
Facility Management and Development:
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of facility improvements, expansions, and renovations to meet the company’s evolving needs.
- Ensure the maintenance and security of all facilities, including offices, production areas, clean room technologies and common spaces.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for facility maintenance and construction projects.
- Oversee space utilization and allocation, optimizing layouts for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and execute sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and improve energy efficiency, contribute to ESG.
Support Services Management:
- Lead and supervise teams of administrative assistants and support staff, ensuring the provision of high-quality services across the organization.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for support services, ensuring consistency and best practices.
- Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and continuous improvement within the support services teams.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their support needs and implement solutions that enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
Fleet and Car Pool Management :
- Oversee the management of company vehicles, including maintenance, repair, and replacements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the efficient use of the company carpool.
- Monitor vehicle-related costs and make recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and vehicle-related legal requirements.
Production Equipment Management:
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure the availability and reliability of production equipment.
- Develop maintenance schedules, procedures, and performance metrics for production equipment.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and upgrades to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
- Collaborate with procurement to source and evaluate new equipment and technologies.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage budgets for facility management, support services, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Allocate resources effectively to support ongoing operations and improvement initiatives.
An ideal candidate will have
- Proven experience (5+ years) in facility management, shared services, and equipment management with ideally global or international exposure
- Master’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field / relevant experience
- Knowledge of facility maintenance, construction, and space planning principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems for facility and equipment management.
- Familiarity with fleet management and production equipment maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Language skills: Czech C1 or higher, English B2 or higher
