TESCAN USA is looking for a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to be primarly responsible for all service-related tasks for Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) in North America. This candidate will be provided with the necessary in-house training, also including on-the-job training. This position will require a comprehensive understanding of Scanning Electron Microscopy.

Job description

  • Responsibility for meeting the daily needs of our customers including installation, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, emergency service, technical support, customer training, and any other support associated with the position
  • Capacity to drive the skill sets of diagnosis, troubleshooting and problem solving with various variables
  • Provide comprehensive guidance for system operations and upkeep of the machines
  • Work as a team with FSEs
  • Potential to physically lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. including frequently moving in various directions
  • Required to travel both domestically and internationally 50%-75% of the work week

An ideal candidate will have

  • Accurate and credible experience working with complex tools
  • Familiarity with operating test equipment such as DVM and Oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Ability to test and demonstrate logical problem solving
  • Capacity to have proficiency in the English language, reading, writing and verbal communications
  • Expertise in diagnostic and troubleshooting intricate subsystems, such as Ultra High Vacuum systems, and digital/ analog electronics
  • Maintaining good customer relations is essential
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in the industry
